- Summary
- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Battle of Britain Week. DESCRIPTION: Marching through London to commemorate, once more, the Battle of Britain, the Royal Air Force honoured the men who fell in that glorious victory. They paid homage to the few at a service in the restored St Clement Danes, re-consecrated last year in the presence of the Queen, as the Royal Air Force Memorial Church. The Battle of Britain, nearly twenty years ago, was won by the men who fought with Spitfires and Hurricanes. War-time film shows a few of the few in action in 1940. The RAF’s last flying Hurricane made a fly-past, together with the last flying Spitfire. But they and their pilots will never be forgotten. SHOTLIST: LS Royal Air Force band marching.
