MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: The Kentucky Derby. DESCRIPTION: America’s greatest horse race, the 85th Kentucky Derby, drew the usual big crowd to Churchill Downs. Sixteen three-year-olds went away on the mile-and-a-quarter dash in quest of a prize of over a hundred thousand dollars. It was won by the English-bred colt Tomy Lee, ridden by Shoemaker.
