- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Ice on the Equator. DESCRIPTION: A block of ice, about three tons of it, which came from inside the Arctic Circle in Norway, was speeding across Africa to a destination on the Equator. Cases of medicine, also on the lorry, will be even more welcome than the ice at Lambarene. For that famous place in French-Equatorial Africa is where the load is going. Lambarene village, and there to receive the gifts was Dr Albert Schweitzer, musician, doctor, surgeon, and (above all) humanitarian, with members of his hospital staff to supervise the unloading.
