DESCRIPTION: A London reception, and Field-Marshal Lord Harding greeted the famous horsewoman, Pat Smythe, Judy Grinham, Christine Truman, Billy Wright and Mike Hawthorn. He then announced this year’s top sportsman: seventeen-year-old Ian Black, winner of swimming victories in the Empire and European Games. Ian Black made a speech.
