Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Train Into River. DESCRIPTION: It happened when a span of a bridge had been raised to allow a ship to pass under. Two diesel engines and two coaches plunged into Newark Bay, New Jersey, and a third coach was left hanging precariously from the bridge. The crowded, rush-hour suburban train, taking people to work, had mysteriously gone straight past the warning signal. Many passengers were injured, and some forty people died in the accident.
