DESCRIPTION: Princess Margaret arrived at Trinidad’s airfield and was welcomed by Lord Hailes who then presented Sir Grantley Adams, the first Federal Prime Minister. Men of the Jamaica Regiment provided the Guard of Honour. Princess Margaret came to perform (on behalf of the Queen) the inauguration of the first West-Indian Parliament.
