Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Suez - Latest Despatches. DESCRIPTION: New arrivals at Port Said were two German lifting craft the Ausdauer and the Energie. They and their crews have been grappling with the task of moving a thousand ton mud hopper. Out of some 29,000 tons of shipping sunk in the Port Said area, Anglo-French salvage teams have lifted about 6,000 tons, and cleared a channel to the Canal. But twenty seven wrecks have still to be cleared. SHOTLIST: German lifting craft in canal. Divers going down. General shots of salvage. US General Wheeler inspecting operation. The German ships are the Ausdauer and the Energie.
