Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: The Soviet Celebrates. DESCRIPTION: Soviet Russia paraded its military strength at the Annual Red Square celebration. Khrushchev, Bulganin, Zhukov and other bosses looked on. Meanwhile in Hungary, few refugees contrived to take some possessions across into Austria. In Britain, help in the form of clothing and money is being organised on a wide scale. The number of Hungarians driven from home and country cannot yet be counted. Two little boys reached the Austrian border, alone and half starved. SHOTLIST: Red Square, Moscow - TPS parade in progress. MCU men marching past. LS Russian leaders. MLS Khrushchev, Bulganin and Zhukov saluting. Various shots of march past including tanks. Slip pan to Hungary - shots of refugees moving along road with belongings etc. into Austria. Slip pan to England. People sorting out clothing into boxes etc. Cheques being sorted. Slip pan to Austrian border. Two boys with soldier. MCU 2 boys. Two boys being handed food.
