- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Cabinet Suez Crisis. DESCRIPTION: A Treaty, guaranteed the Suez Canal, as an International waterway, for all time. Colonel Nasser repudiated this agreement. Mr Selwyn Lloyd, the Foreign Secretary, held crisis talks with Monsieur Pineau, the French Foreign Minister, together with the United States Secretary of State, Mr Dulles, to discuss the grave situation. Twenty three nations will be invited to discuss the re-establishment of International security, on the Canal. In the event of failure, Great Britain is already preparing to counter Nasser’s threat, to hold the Canal by force. SHOTLIST: Various shots of the ships on the Canal.
