MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Water Speed News. DESCRIPTION: Making an attempt on his own water speed record of 76 miles an hour, Christoph von Mayenburg, set up a new world record of 82 miles an hour. The boat which he built himself, is fitted with a Jaguar engine. SHOTLIST: Christoph von Mayenburg (German Motor Boat Champion) makes an attempt on his own water speed record. In 1954 he made a mark of 76 miles covered in one hour, now in Austria, he sets a new record of 82 miles in 60 minutes. Another sportsman in Austria Mr Igor Bensen of North Carolina, has something between a row boat and a helicopter. SCU Mayenburg’s boat. LS and SCU flying boat. GV binoculars. Clocks.
