Summary

MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Cyprus - the Lighter Side. DESCRIPTION: The cordial reception (awaiting Sir John Harding, when he paid a visit to Lefka, a village near Nicosia) revealed the true feeling of the majority of Cypriots. Things on the island are just as difficult for British families. Following the murder of a British civilian, patrols have recently been instituted, around the shopping areas of Limassol. SHOTLIST: Various shots of Sir John Harding shaking peoples’ hands in Lefka. MCU of Sir John talking to a man. Sir John Harding looking at fruit. Slip pan to Limassol. Various street scenes. People shopping etc. Lady being helped by soldier (carrying her bags). Military police get the soldier to hand the lady back her goods.
