Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: New Legislative - Malaya. DESCRIPTION: The opening of the Federation of Malaya’s first Legislative Council was a great occasion in Kuala Lumpur, a message from the Queen was delivered by the High Commissioner, Sir Donald MacGillivray. Mr Lennox Boyd, Secretary of State for the Colonies and Mr Malcolm MacDonald where in attendance. The whole ceremony was a big step to self government. SHOTLIST: GV of the procession entering the House (interior). Sir Donald MacGillivray sits down. The mace is laid on desk. Various members of the colonies watching. The Governor on the throne.
