MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: New Legislative - Malaya. DESCRIPTION: The opening of the Federation of Malaya’s first Legislative Council was a great occasion in Kuala Lumpur, a message from the Queen was delivered by the High Commissioner, Sir Donald MacGillivray. Mr Lennox Boyd, Secretary of State for the Colonies and Mr Malcolm MacDonald where in attendance. The whole ceremony was a big step to self government.
