Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Churchill Lays Foundation Stone at New Baltic Exchange. DESCRIPTION: A new extension to the Baltic Exchange is being built in the City of London, and Sir Winston Churchill went to the site with Lady Churchill, to lay the foundation stone for the six storey building. SHOTLIST: KS Churchill on the site of the new Baltic Exchange and VIPs. First Sir Winston and Lady Churchill seen arriving outside the site. Now Sir Winston arrives on the platform where the ceremony is to take place. Now with great precision Sir Winston spreads the mortar preparatory for the lowering of the foundation stone. Seen using a spirit level with that professional touch, accompanied by prolonged laughter from all present. Finally Sir Winston makes the pronouncement.
