- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Christmas Approaches. DESCRIPTION: Christmas time is turkey time and at Bridport there seems to be plenty of fine birds. Circus troupes are busy rehearsing for their great opening. Adelaide, Australia, has already had its famous street parade - a festive affair, even if the weather is a bit unseasonable to our way of thinking. The shop windows of our big stores are as great an attraction as ever, as also is Father Christmas inside - how that old man gets around! SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Artists impression of Father Xmas. At turkey farm, Bridport. Various shots of turkeys being let out to feed in pens. Run in and out of camera. Full screen of turkeys lifting up their heads and making loud gobbling noise. Farmer picks up turkeys. Gives advice on how to buy a good turkey to housewives. Mix to Bertram Mills Circus. Various shots of animals, ponies, horses, elephants training for opening of circus. High up over arena, motor cyclist perches on partners shoulders, twirls round. Adelaide - Xmas procession through crowded streets. Tableaux of festive season, including Father Xmas. London - Father Xmas in Selfridges. Sit one child on his knee. Kiddies passing from him after being greeted by him. Kiddies look in shop windows at various moving toys. Toy demonstration from inside and out of window. Night shot of Selfridges all lit up. Mix to helicopter carrying Father Xmas over roof tops in Germany.
