DESCRIPTION: In Cleveland, Ohio, Senator Nixon replies to those accusations - Mr Eisenhower and his wife met the Senator to discuss plans for the Republican campaign. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Crowds. Ditto. CU Nixon addressing crowds, also put over television, Ike & wife listening. Eisenhower speaking in defence of Nixon. Nixon Speech: I am not going to let any smears and attacks divert me from this campaign. I want the American people to know that as far as I am concerned we have just begun to fight. Ike’s Speech: So far as I am concerned he has not only completely vindicated himself, I feel he acted as a man of courage and honour - and as far as I’m concerned stands higher than ever before.
