Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: After Christmas Shake-Up. Wrestling in Paris. DESCRIPTION: One excellent and well-established way of getting over Christmas is to go hunting on Boxing Day; the meet of the West Warwickshire Hunt at Stratford-upon-Avon provides a good example of the idea. At Pagham in Sussex the thing to do on Boxing Day is to compete in a Pram Race. Another way of getting into trim is to wrestle as Messrs. Charron and Jones did in Paris. An inventive Berliner has discovered that, by attaching the vacuum-cleaner to his accordion, he can play it with the minimum of effort. SHOTLIST: Cut story - GV wrestling. Various shots M Charron & Mr Jones wrestling, falling out of ring, also throwing the referee out of the ring. Spectators try to part the wrestlers. Cut-in audience watching. Vacuum-Cleaner Accordion - Berlin - CARD 56549 (43 ft). Cut story - Several shots of person playing piano accordion, attaches vacuum cleaner pipe to accordion, shots of him playing same. Cut-in small dog watching him. West Warwickshire Hunt - CARD 56553 (601 ft). Location - Stratford-upon-Avon. Cut story - KS. GV Master in fore with other huntsmen around. Hunt moves off, several shots. Passing over the River Avon with Shakespeare’s Memorial Theatre in background panning shot. Shots party drinking before moving off. Pagham Pram Race. Cut story - Start of race. People with fancy dress pushing prams with ‘babies’ in same. Stopping at several ‘pubs’ and drinking pints of beer. Winner over line.
