MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Canal Zone Scenes. DESCRIPTION: A British road block on the road from Cairo to the Canal Zone town of Ismailia is one obvious precaution. For servicemen’s families still out there, movement about the streets for the purpose of shopping and so on, can only be carried out with the protection of armed patrols. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. MS troops in activity. GV road. British troops searching Egyptians, etc. Elevated GV school shows, British men & women, & children shopping, assisted by troops. Shots of people queuing & leaving building. Various shots of shopping in school. Bren carrier goes past camera, along street. Machine-gunners alongside Suez Canal, ship in background passing, two shots.
