Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Floods - Swiss Lake & Guildford. DESCRIPTION: SWISS LAKE OVERFLOWS . Floods have been widespread in Southern Switzerland and on the Italian frontier as well as in other parts of Italy. Lake Maggiore and Lake Lugano have both been overflowing, with serious results clearly shown in our pictures. SCENES IN BRITAIN. Flooding has been extensive in many parts of the South of England - a typical example is in the Guildford area and the town itself. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. GV swollen waters in Switzerland. Various shots of flooded area, streets in town flooded, people walk across planks. Roads & streets completely flooded, in the Lakes Maggiore & Lugano. People leave by boat. Guildford, Surrey - Shots of open country flooded, various shots of the town showing the High Street etc. flooded, vehicles crawling through same. Boys walk in water, enjoying themselves.
