- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Princess & Duke Leave for Canada. DESCRIPTION: The Queen and Princess Margaret were at London Airport for the departure of Princess Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh. They had previously said goodbye to the King. Captain Jones was to pilot the Royal couple in the Stratocruiser Canopus on their historic flight across the Atlantic. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. CU Princess Elizabeth’s Coat of Arms. Night material - Long shot of Stratocruiser with newsreel cameras & floodlights in foreground. MS ditto. Crew of Stratocruiser lined up on tarmac. GV Royal car arrival. Sir Miles Thomas greets Queen, Princesses & Duke. Queen Elizabeth walks into plane. Preceding arrival of royal car. SCU inside plane - interview with Captain Jones, the pilot, speaks about the time it will take. Queen shakes hands with Jones, rest of royal family follow with plane. MS of the powerful floodlights on the tarmac. Queen walk off plane, blowing a kiss to Princess Elizabeth & Duke. Queen, Princess Margaret stand on tarmac. SCU of engines starting up. Stratocruiser starts to taxi, several shots into the mist, cut-ins of Queen & Princess Margaret watching.
