MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Holiday Vicissitudes. DESCRIPTION: Their Majesties arrive at Ballater for their holiday at Balmoral - Holiday crowds at Liverpool and London - The tragic rail accident at Ford, near Arundel - At Fowey, the National Town Criers Championship (organised by the News of the World) collected crowds of holiday-makers - Scenes in London Parks and the Pleasure Gardens during the wet week-end. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Slow pan crowds seated on grass. Ballater, King in uniform, wearing kilt, with Queen, inspects Seaforth Highlanders, Guard of Honour. Cut-in Queen, Princess Anne, & Prince Charles, Prince holds his grandmothers hand, watching the King. King is carrying a Shepherd’s Crook. Car drives away. Liverpool - Crowds on quays, boarding Isle of Man boats. Paddington Station - Queues for trains. Crowds on platforms. Ford, near Arundel - Various angle shots of wrecked train, wreckage being cleared, crowds looking on. Fowey. Cornwall - CU Town Criers, crying CU of various Criers in action. CU the winner, Ben Johnson, crying & crying, Oyez, Lets Go To The Pictures. London - Queues outside various London cinemas. GV Blackpool beach deserted of crowds. Crowds walk along promenade raining. Battersea Garden Park, shows place during pouring rain, firemen clearing away flooded areas. People seated under cover at tea. MS Band playing without a soul listening in rain. Various shots at Festival Site, shows rain pouring, & small people walking round & taking cover, also taking tea under cover. Not used - Old Tyme Cricket at Bexley, Kent. Various shots of play, all players in old fashioned clothes.
