MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Britain’s Athletic Win (Britain V France). DESCRIPTION: Holiday Athletics at the White City resulted in clear-cut victories for Great Britain over France in the men’s and women’s sections. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Slow motion, pole vaulter in action. Elevated GV stadium, with parade in progress. Start of the one mile, Panning - Nankeville overtakes Frenchman & wins. CU Nankeville. Start of the 80 metres hurdles race for women, Miss Jean Desforges winning, & CU of her. 2nd Day - SCU track with rain pouring down on same. Crowds sheltering from rain. 100-yards start & pan to finish, won by MacDonald Bailey. 880-yards - start & pan with finish, Wint just keeping ahead of Bannister all the way. CU of the two after race. Into camera - finish of race, pouring with rain.
