MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Barge Race Slowed By Lack of Breeze. DESCRIPTION: Though almost becalmed in the Medway, nearly a score of barges started in the annual race. Owing to the weather, the course was shortened - even so, it was more like a drifting race than a sailing race. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. CU Venta barge. GV of barges under way. SCU small cannon being fired - starting gun. Various close-ups of barges, including small barge yachts. Shots aboard one of the barges, shows crew at work, on sails, ropes etc. Various shots of race under way, hardly moving. SCU Henry the winner.
