MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Wimbledon Opening. DESCRIPTION: Fine weather and fashions at the opening day of the All England Championships. Among players seen arriving were Miss Tuckey, Miss Chaffee and Miss Gibson, first Negress to play at Wimbledon. Film star Elizabeth Taylor and Denis Compton were there to watch. The match between von Cramm and Drobny was one of the biggest attractions. The German made a good fight but went down to Drobny. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS.
