- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: England Win the Calcutta Cup. DESCRIPTION: The Calcutta Cup match drew a big crowd to Twickenham. Princess Margaret and the Queen were there, attended by Sir Wavell Wakefield, President of the Union. England won by five points to three to recapture the Cup and share the wooden spoon with Scotland. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. CU Calcutta Cup. Crowd shots. Princess Margaret precedes the Queen on arrival, accompanied by Sir Wavell Wakefield. MS of the above seated in royal box. Elevated GV Scotland kick off. England attack hard, several times looking dangerous. Good long run by England player. Scrum & England attack. Don White throws a dummy & goes over to score a try for England. Crowds cheering. Hook convert. Half time - England kick off. Gray & Roberts race for ball, both touch-down almost simultaneously, referee gives it to Scotland. General play.
