Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Melbourne’s Big Race. DESCRIPTION: This year’s Melbourne Cup, with a field of twenty-six for the two mile race, provided one sensation after another - first, the favourite never showed any signs of getting near the front, then, two horses fell, injuring both jockeys and finally Comic Court, a 25 to 1 chance carrying top weight, won and broke the record for the event. SHOTLIST: KS. Elevated GV of paddock. Crowd shots & stands packed with people. GV of the start. Various shots of the race, panning & trucking shots. "Comic Court" takes the lead & keeps it. In the rear of the grouped horses two fall over. Panning shot of "Comic Court" going on to win easily.
