Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Wimbledon Opens. DESCRIPTION: Opening day at Wimbledon drew a large crowd, though not so big as last year’s record. In the absence of last year’s men’s singles winner, Drobny (now of Egypt) had the honour (as runner-up) of opening on the Centre Court. His victory over Grandet of France was quite a simple affair.
