Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Wightman Cup Debacle - America Win. DESCRIPTION: The Wightman Cup match between Mrs Hilton and Miss Louise Brough was (like every other match in the contest) a victory for America, but the crowd was thrilled by the British player’s really great effort. Mrs Hilton lost 6-2, 2-6, 5-7. SHOTLIST: KS Louise Brough & Mrs Hilton walk onto court. Spin tennis racket. SCU racket falling to ground. Elevated GV of above couple in play. Both serving at different times. Cut-ins of crowds watching, their heads following the ball from right to left & reverse. Mrs Attlee presents Cup to American team (women). SCU of Cup & team, with English team standing beside them.
