- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Vyshinsky Protests at Yugoslavia Election. DESCRIPTION: At Flushing, New York, the United Nations voted for Yugoslavia to be a non-permanent member of the Security Council. Naturally, Yugoslavia’s success enraged Mr Vyshinsky, the Soviet Foreign Minister, who started a tirade, which not even the President of the Assembly could stop. SHOTLIST: KS. Exterior of UN Building. Interior GV delegates. Members voting for & against the election of Yugoslavia, placing votes in box. Vyshinsky raises & president allows him to address meeting. Vyshinsky addresses meeting in Russian, protesting against the election of Yugoslavia, president tries to intervene but Vyshinsky ignores him. After he has finished speaking president announces that what he has just said, was against the rules of UNO & should be treated as such or words to that effect.
