MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: National Rally Inaugurating National Savings Week. DESCRIPTION: At Earls Court, large crowds packed the seats to witness the great Rally inaugurate by National Savings. Among the speakers were Lord Mackintosh, Lord Woolton and Sir Stafford Cripps. A spectacular tattoo followed, finishing with the singing of Abide with Me. SHOTLIST: KS. GV audience. GV ditto applauding. SCU Lord Mackintosh, & speaking, cut-in applause. SCU Lord Woolton & speaking, cut-in applause. CU Sir Stafford Cripps, & speaking. Applause. GV arena with Royal Marines band leading. Royal Navy beat the retreat. RN present arms. RAF give PT display & alsatian dogs give display. Vaulting display. Ditto gagging. Flags of all countries etc. lined up in arena. Grand Finale - St George leads onto arena all knights of British Isles etc. All singing "Abide With Me".
