- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: New Colours for Irish Guards. DESCRIPTION: In the grounds of Buckingham Palace, King George as Colonel-in-Chief of the Irish Guards, presented them with New Colours. Also present was the Queen, Queen Mary, Queen Juliana and Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands and Field Marshal Viscount Alexander. SHOTLIST: KS. Drum-major leads guards band in slow march - into camera. Queen Elizabeth, Queen Mary & Field Marshal Viscount Alexander. Royal Box - includes Prince Bernhard, Queen Juliana & Princess Beatrix and her sister. Old colours - slow marching & trooping the colours through the ranks. Colour marched into Palace. King walks onto terrace in full uniform. Presents new colours & addresses regiment & praises them on their drill & marching. King inspects. Three cheers for the King. Marchpast at normal speed. Cut-in CU King saluting. Cut-in royal spectators watching. Colours marched past royal spectators.
