MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Ascot 1949 - First Day. DESCRIPTION: The Fashion Parade was again the headline of Royal Ascot. The King, Queen, Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Duke of Gloucester and the Princess Royal were present to see Gordon Richards win the first race by eight lengths. SHOTLIST: KS. GV Golden Gates Royal coaches pass through. Elevated GV of Royal procession along course. Cut-ins cheering crowds. Panning shot King & Queen in open landau in procession. Elevated shot ditto turn into grandstand. GV grandstand. SCU types - various fashions. SCU men in toppers. Royal Family walk towards paddock, (King, Queen, Princess Elizabeth & Duke of Edinburgh).
