Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Berlin Crisis Continues. DESCRIPTION: Berlin, cut off from the Western zone of Germany by the Russian blockade, is threatened with hunger and worse. British and American planes have now begun to airlift supplies to the beleaguered city. SHOTLIST: CUT STORY: Map of Berlin. Map of Western Germany. Elevated shots of empty marshalling yards. Rail tracks deserted. Empty autobahns. GV idle barges on canal. Berlin shops and banks closed. People crowding onto trams. Trams move off. GV massed protest meeting - full screen umbrellas. CU various types. US plane takes off and in flight. Map showing flight direction. NIGHT: Planes land at Gatow. Planes directed into position. Germans and troops unload bacon, flour etc. Several shots of General Robertson walking through aerodrome to watch procedure.
