- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Britain’s Tribute to Franklin Roosevelt. DESCRIPTION: Members of the Royal Family and other dignitaries gathered in Grosvenor Square for the unveiling of the statue of President Roosevelt. Accompanied by the King, Mrs Eleanor Roosevelt unveiled the statue. SHOTLIST: CUT STORY: KS SCU Union Jack and Stars and Stripes. Elevated shot Grosvenor Square with Roosevelt Memorial covered. Cut-in crowds on roof and looking from windows surrounding square. SV CU Churchill in morning dress arrives, Mrs Churchill can be seen briefly. SV Mr and Mrs Attlee arrive. Mrs Roosevelt with Major Hooker (Truman’s special representative) past camera. Princess Elizabeth and Duke of Edinburgh past camera. King, Queen and Princess Margaret with Lord Greenwood (Chairman of the Memorial Committee). Princess Elizabeth on dais curtsies to Queen Mary. Cut-in Royal Marines and US Marines. Pan Square, hymn being sung Lord is my Shepherd. MS King speaking says It is fitting that . the dark days of war. Elevated GV Grosvenor Square. King continues I will now ask Mrs Roosevelt . a great man and a great friend. SLS King with Mrs Roosevelt walk to statue. King lays wreath on same. CU statue (bust only). Elevated GV statue. Lewis W Douglas speaks - frame whilst he is speaking can be seen Queen Mary, Duke of Gloucester, Duchess of Kent, Princess Alexandra and Princess Elizabeth - says In all history . memory of a friend in another.
