- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Easter 1948 - the No-Basic Holiday. DESCRIPTION: The spell of fine weather drew the Easter crowds to the seaside, but lack of petrol meant some roads were deserted. SHOTLIST: KS Elevated Brighton seafront. Ditto with pier in background. MS crowds walk along seafront. GV crowds on beach. MS line of sunbathers on beach. Couple sunbathing on beach. MS swimmers entering water. GV swimming and sun playing on water. Gag shots - children in rubber dinghy, using paddles, Paul Wyand levering dinghy up and down. Reg Sutton throws water over dinghy. Elevated shot empty main Portsmouth Road, deserted of cars. MS of same. Elevated shot of same. Cyclists along road, no cars at all. Tricycle (with baby carriage attached), along deserted road. Parents and children, also their dog pull car by ropes attached, pan to back of car where Paul Wyand is laying on luggage rack to finish.
