Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Scotland Greets Princess and Fiance. DESCRIPTION: The Royal Family arrive in Scotland accompanied by Lt Philip Mountbatten. Princess Elizabeth was presented with the Freedom of the City of Edinburgh. SHOTLIST: KS. Royal Family stand on platform, King in uniform of Scots Guards, being greeted by the Lord Provost, Sir John Falconer, also in uniform and his daughter Diana Falconer. The latter shakes hands with Lt Philip Mountbatten and Princess Margaret. Lord Provost presents Keys of the City to the King. Out camera, Royal car enters Holyrood House grounds. Slip pan. Princess Elizabeth with Lt Mountbatten inspect Guard of Honour at Usher Hall (Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders) accompanied by Lord Provost. Elevated GV of Princess Elizabeth and Lt Philip Mountbatten walking through crowded Usher Hall. Audience applaud. Princess Elizabeth receives casket containing Burgess Ticket. SCU Princess Elizabeth signing Burgess Roll. MS & CU Princess Elizabeth making her speech, refers to her happiness and Scotland, also speaks of the Battle of Waterloo, audience interrupt her several times during her speech with applause. During her speech the organ was playing (in background) The Campbells are Coming.
