MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Trooping the Colour. DESCRIPTION: Princess Elizabeth and the Duke of Gloucester rode behind the King to the Trooping the Colour Ceremony on Horse Guards. The Colour being trooped was that of the 2nd Battalion Coldstream Guards. SHOTLIST: CUT STORY: KS Tilt down of Horse Guards Parade. MS into camera - King, Princess Elizabeth (side saddle) and Duke of Gloucester on horseback leave Buckingham Palace. Cut-in of American Superfortress airmen saluting as Royalty pass. Pan of King, Princess Elizabeth and Duke of Gloucester passing camera. MS of the above approaching Mall crowded with people. King in uniform of Colonel in Chief of Coldstream Guards. Princess Elizabeth in specially designed uniform of Colonel of Grenadier Guards. Duke of Gloucester in uniform of Colonel of Scots Guards. Mix to King, Princess and Duke riding onto parade ground of Horse Guards Parade. Cut-in of Queen Elizabeth, Queen Mary and Princess Margaret at window watching parade. King, Princess and Duke ride to saluting base and saluting as they approach same. Elevated shot of them almost in position, to the National Anthem. MS King riding (inspecting) Guards of the Line and Royal Household Cavalry. Coldstream, Grenadier and Scots Guards. Elevated shot of same. CU Princess Elizabeth & Duke of Gloucester on horseback, the latter unseen. Several MSs of Guards counter marching. Elevated shot of the Massed Bands and Drums of the Brigade of Guards. Colour presented to regiment of Coldstreams. Guards present arms (Escort). Escort Guards slope arms. Several shots of Guards slow marching. Escort slow marching through ranks with colour. LS of escort passing through ranks. Escort towards camera at end of ranks, slow marching, come to a halt. MS of Guards at quick march marching past King who takes the salute. Cut-in of King saluting. MS King, Princess and Duke leaving at conclusion of parade heading the procession of Guards to Palace. Elevated shot of Guards leaving parade ground. Mix to Guards Band marching along Mall into camera. MS King, Princess and Duke taking salute outside Buckingham Palace. CU Princess Elizabeth and Duke of Gloucester on horseback - very good. Several shots of Guards marching past. Names of marches are in marchpast (quick time) Coldstream March.
