- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Mr Churchill - Lord Warden of Cinque Ports. DESCRIPTION: Winston Churchill has been installed as Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports. SHOTLIST: CUT STORY: KS GV Dover Castle. Churchill in Admiral’s uniform alights from open car followed by Mrs Churchill. Churchill with one of his epaulettes missing walks into camera. Inspects Guard of Honour of Royal Artillery. At St Martin’s Priory. Churchill with both epaulettes on, inspect Guard of Honour of Royal Marines. Procession of cars leave, drive down incline through crowded streets of Dover. Inside large marquee Mr Churchill walks to his place amid applause (Kentish Fire). Churchill addresses, calls upon the Seneschal to read his Patent of Office. Seneschal reading same. Audience listening. Churchill addresses party, speaks about being Lord Warden, Minister of Defence and Prime Minister. Cut-ins of audience applauding and laughing. Mayor of Dover asks Mr Churchill to lunch. Churchill accepts. Exterior - trumpeters of 11th Hussars (Churchill’s Regiment) play fanfare on balcony of Town Hall. Churchill inspects Guard of Honour. Churchill walks into camera, SCU looks up at balcony.
