MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Victory Parade and Night Celebrations - Part 2. DESCRIPTION: Movietone presents a further historic record of the celebrations in London, including the night display, which marked the climax of the Great Day. SHOTLIST: CUT STORY: KS Boadicea Statue (31ft). Elevated shot of Royal landau along Whitehall. Elevated shot from Admiralty Arch shows same turning into Admiralty Arch. King and Queen arrive at saluting base. King and Queen alighting shaking hands with Attlee. Churchill, Mackenzie King and Field Marshal Smuts. Queen followed by King kisses Queen Mary. Various shots of pipers marching up and down Mall in front of saluting base. CU Attlee and Churchill, both in morning dress. Elevated shot of mechanised column passing through Trafalgar Square and as seen from Admiralty Arch. Monty stands in car, salutes as he passes saluting base. Tanks pass saluting base. Chaffee. Cromwells, cut-ins of King and Queen. Churchill bridge laying tanks pass saluting base. Cut-in CU Attlee and Churchill. Elevated shot of band leading marching column. Crowds round bonfire, singing Daisy, couples dancing round bonfire, including old lady dancing, jigging by herself. GV British Movietone building at 22, Soho Square with neon lighting on. Flood-lit buildings, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Stock Exchange, Admiralty Arch, Mansion House, Greenwich Royal Naval College, as seen from river. Ships with their outline lit up. Various shots of searchlights forming archway, salute to King and Queen as they pass in launch. Launch approaches terrace of Houses of Parliament. King followed by Queen disembark, mount steps. Elevated shots of jets of water, with searchlights playing in sky. Various shots of fireworks, rockets etc. bursts in sky. King, Queen and Princess Elizabeth in fireworks. Various fireworks exploding, shows several Thames bridges silhouetted in back and foreground.
