Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Tidal Wave. DESCRIPTION: An earthquake at the bottom of the sea near the Aleutian Islands has set off a tidal wave which has swept the west coast of America. On Hawaii the town of Hilo has suffered damage. SHOTLIST: KS GV wave washing-up seashore. Various shots of very rough seas hitting Chinese coast, washing away jetties, heavy wave into camera, liner in background. Map of the Pacific showing the Aleutians over which (in diagram) a wave passes towards Hawaii and on across the Pacific. Aerial shots of Hilo, Hawaii where most havoc was caused, shots of floods etc. Ground shots of bungalows. houses, cars trees, up-rooted, factories completely wrecked. Shots of survivors, mostly children arrive in lorry, some of their pet dogs, being assisted off lorry.
