- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Chancellor Speaks at National Savings Thirtieth Anniversary. DESCRIPTION: The Chancellor of the Exchequer leaves for the House to present his budget. A few days earlier the National Savings Movement had celebrated its thirtieth anniversary with a Grand Rally at the Royal Albert Hall. SHOTLIST: KS CU treasury notes. Mr Dalton leaves No 11 Downing Street, carrying the "black bag", SCU Dalton. Fade to Royal Albert Hall, elevated shot of platform and audience. Seated at table on platform left to right Lady Bonham-Carter, Anthony Eden, Mr Attlee, Lord Kindersley, Sir Harold Mackintosh, Mr Dalton. Mr Attlee addresses the audience. Mr Eden speaks (silent), gestures. Pipers lead procession through audience to base of platform. CU Scotland banner. CU Northern Ireland banner. CU Wales banner. CU England banner. GV Chairmans of the Movement hand Sir Harold Mackintosh cheque. Mackintosh addresses audience and Mr Dalton who stands up and shakes hands with him, then addresses audience, saying he will put the £520,000,000 handed in by National Savings in this years budget.
