- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: LLoyd George’s Funeral. DESCRIPTION: The Welsh statesman is laid to rest in a simple grave beside the Dwyfor river. He was borne to his last resting place of a farm cart, pulled by his favourite horse, followed by his widow and family. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Coffin on horse-drawn cart. GV of Criccieth looking out to sea. Shots of bridge across the River Dwyfor also LG’s initials carved in same. Shot of school he went to, also of the cottage where he studied & shoemakers shop. GV of his house at Ty Newdd, coffin placed on cart, cortege leaves with four grandsons as pall bearers. GV of procession, following on foot are the Dowager Countess, the widow, with Major Gwilym Lloyd George. Then Lady Megan, & Lady Carey Evans. Digging grave on banks of River Dwyfor. Cortege approaches spinney, crowds gathered, singing a hymn. Coffin carrier to grave, blessing etc., & lowered into grave. Pan of surroundings. Welsh flag at half-mast.
