MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: New Road to China. DESCRIPTION: Brigadier General Lewis Pick led the first convoy to go through to China along the new Ledo or "Stilwell" Road. It was a great moment for him since he had been responsible for its construction. SHOTLIST: Cut story - Various shots of convoy starting ..., Brigadier General Pick in jeep leads. Various shots of roads. Inhabitants celebrate opening of new road, road officially opened, huge "V" sign taken away, convoy passes through. Various shots of terrain, through which the convoy, or rather the road had to be made. Convoy passes along, through jungle, mountainous roads, over rivers etc. Signpost Ledo/Burma Road. Convoy enters Kunming, still led by Brigadier General Pick who acknowledges the large crowds, as convoy drives through streets.
