- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Freed By Luzon Liberators Allied POW Released. DESCRIPTION: American Rangers have succeeded in rescuing a large number of American and British prisoners. Years of harsh treatment has left the men thin and weak. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. GV tanks advancing & firing guns. Artillery barrage laid down, various shots, for the fight for Manila. American infantry advance. Various shots of American & British prisoners who have been released with the invasion of the island. Marching along road, given gum, cigarettes, clothing etc., some along road in mule-carts. CU Corporal Cecil Hay (US) speaks for the mike, "I broke down & cried when I saw the American flag flying". Sergeant Robert Bell of Manchester Regiment, tells his story for last four years, how Americans sunk prisoners ship off Luzon, etc.
