Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Western Front. DESCRIPTION: British and American Units near and inside La Roche have been working in difficult conditions and freezing weather. Somewhere between Malmedy and St Vith another German atrocity was reported, the killing of over a hundred American prisoners who had surrendered. According to the cameraman many had been mutilated before being shot. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS Smouldering houses. Sherman tanks along snow covered roads. Dead lie about roads. American infantry firing rifles, also houses burning. Signpost La Roche, US Infantry march through town. AFU - British troops fire Vickers machine gun, 5.5 guns firing from fields. AFU - Tanks move through woods, armoured cars along roads, American patrols link-up, shake hands with British crews of Sherman tanks. British and US patrol link-up, shake hands etc. British troops march along road, single file. La Roche en Ardennes, signpost. Various shots of Sherman tanks along snow covered roads, also US infantry, shots of feet through snow. Jeep along road. US digging up dead Americans near St Vith, murdered by the Germans, in background stand several German prisoners, made to march past same, their hands above their heads. CU types of prisoners.
