Summary

MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Burma - Raid on Jap Bases & Capture of Kennedy Peak. DESCRIPTION: The news from Burma continues to be encouraging, the RAF have bombed the railway yards at Pyinmana attempting to cut Japanese supply lines. Another film despatch shows the capture of Kennedy Peak, which was the next Japanese stronghold to be taken after the fall of Tiddim. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Native (chinese) ground crews at work. Liberators on airfield, taxi, & take-off. Formations in flight, also CU of one. Bombs falling, & hundreds of incendiaries. Over target, Pyinmana, explosions etc. Pyinmana are railway yards. Liberators in flight, over another target, supply dump at Taungup. Bombs falling more explosions. At Kennedy Peak, British troops in action in the jungle, various shots of jungle fighting, tanks move forward through jungle. Troops charge one falls injured. Plane flies overhead. Bren gunners, several in action, mortars being fired. Soldiers fire machine guns in pillbox, finish on shot of troops holding up Japanese flag.
