MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Western Front - Aachen & Venray. DESCRIPTION: The city of Aachen, which once symbolised German resistance, now lies in ruins. Latest newsreel pictures show the capture under fire of Venray a strategic place on the River Meuse. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. GV Aachen, various shots of Quellenhof Hotel, exterior & interior, & remains of same. Yanks look over hotel. POWs marched out of city, German civilians look on. AFU - At Venray, NE of Eindhoven, British troops on march, single file, advance under fire, sniping occasionally, crawling along. Fire mortars at house, several direct hits scored, British troops enter house, bring out German prisoners. Various shots of types including close-ups.
