MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: King Visits Western Front. DESCRIPTION: The King recently spent five days touring the Western front, where he visited United Kingdom, Canadian and American troops. Everywhere in Belgium and Holland he received a great ovation from the local people. SHOTLIST: Cut story - King alights from plane greeted by Montgomery. Coningham, & Broadhurst. King inspects various troops, including Canadian & American troops. King inspecting Army officers. Held open air investiture, presenting CB to Lt General Simmonds. At another with 2nd Army he knights Lt General Dempsey, various shots of same, also several of Dempsey with the King. King drives through crowds of Belgians & Dutch, who wave, cheer, etc. Interior shot of Monty’s caravan, Monty & King look at map. On the coast, King boards destroyer "Garth" during journey home, King wears mackintosh outfit & sou’wester. King wears Army uniform with beret. Various shots of him on the bridge.
