MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Occupation of Elba. DESCRIPTION: French forces, under General de Lattre de Tassigny, has successfully taken the island of Elba. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. French troops embark on landing craft. Various shots of coloured French troops embarking. General de Lattre de Tassigny with another officer walks past camera. Various shots of French Colonial troops waiting embarkation. GS of quay. Shot on board launch shows Tricolour & ensign being hoisted together. Landing craft in line ahead, message sent out by semaphore, another sent by Morse (using lamp). Night shots of coast bombarded, tracers out of camera. Several explosions around ships. Various shots of LCIs going through smoke screen. Shot of smoke screen being laid.
