MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: King in North Africa AFU Copyright. DESCRIPTION: The King was greeted by General Eisenhower, the Allied C in C, on his arrival in North Africa. His Majesty was intent on seeing as much of the Army as possible to express his own and the nation’s gratitude and admiration for the job they’ve done. SHOTLIST: Cut story - Officers fixing the three flags (UK USA & French) to bonnet of car. King walks with Eisenhower across aerodrome, past camera. Various shots King inspecting Welsh Guards, walks up & down ranks, & into camera. King in open car passes along road lined with British troops. Various shots at rest camp (Sidi Farouch) with King surrounded by officers, informal. On beaches MLS & GS of King surrounded by hundreds of British troops. King with officers leaves Army HQ into camera. King with General Anderson inspects captured Tiger tank. CU King. King talks to French girl. King with Alexander drives in General’s white car through crowds of cheering soldiers.
