- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Big Prizes. England. DESCRIPTION: First came the surrender of the Italian Commander-in-Chief, Messe, followed by the Commander in Chief of the Axis armies, General von Arnim. SHOTLIST: Cut story - MS & CU of General Messe standing by car, also with camera with British officers. GS of Messe luggage also pan & CU of one of his uniforms with chevron on sleeve. Arnim out of Douglas Transport Plane, walks past camera MS saluting our officers. CU Arnim facing camera & our officer with their backs to camera. CU Arnim. Arnim luggage being unloaded from plane. Other officers (German) alighting from another plane, walk into camera, conspicuous amongst them is von Vaerst. Other Generals are Cramer; Major General Krause; Major General Borowietz; Major General Neuffer; Lt General Buelowius; Major General Bassenge; Colonel von Quast; Major von Meyer; Lt von Glasgow; Lt Lowmeier. Coach through country loaded with POW. Enters camp. Car through country with Arnim enter camp, Arnim alights, walks towards camera saluting, speaks to our receiving officers, German ‘old’ prisoners carry luggage away. Tommy locking prisoners camp (gate). CU padlock, being locked.
